クリスマス＆良いお年を
皆様、どんなクリスマスをお過ごしでしたか？
私はホームステイ先の家族と、１日をゆったりと過ごしました。
ホームステイ先のクリスマスデコレーション。手作りのものが多くて好きです。
テーブルの真ん中にあるのは、ニーニョ・ディオス。90年近く前の物らしい。
コロンビアでは、圧倒的にカトリック教徒が多いので、
クリスマスは特別な時期です。
クリスマスイブの９日前からクリスマスイブまでの夕方頃、
キリスト生誕にまつわるお話を家族で読みあい、賛美歌を歌う。

普段から家族の付き合いは多いコロンビアですが、
この時期は遠くに住んでいる親戚一同も集まって、日本でいう新年会のよう。
また、プレゼントはサンタさんが持ってくるのではなく、
ニューニョ・ディオス（神の子）が持ってくる、という考えで、
プレゼントは「～から、～へ」という札を付けて、クリスマスツリーの下に飾っておきます。
そして、特に私の住んでいる地域では、
ナティージャ、というとうもろこしの粉とマーガリン、黒砂糖、牛乳、シナモン、ココナッツでできた固いプリンのようなお菓子と
ブミュエロ、というチーズ味のボール状のドーナッツを食べます。
私の職場でも、給食サービスを利用している400人の子供に対して、ボランティアで集まる婦人会を中心にクリスマスをお祝いしました。
9日間、60人ほどのグループに分かれて、神父様と共にNovelaを行い、
最終日は前半と後半、200人ずつに分かれて、Novelaを行い、歌い、
神父様の説教を聞き、ナティージャとブニュエロ、サンドイッチと
アイスクリーム、毛布、といったプレゼントをもらう。
ナティージャとサンドイッチは婦人ボランティア＆職員の手作り。
このお菓子作りは、作っているうちにだんだん固まってきてかなりの力技で大変。

その他、毛布やアイスクリームのプレゼント。
用意しているとすごい量です。。。

また、職場では12月後半から１月末まで、給食サービスはお休みになるので
一部の家族（今年は35家族）に対しては、大きな袋に目一杯入った食料品をプレゼントします。
それらすべての費用は婦人会の会費でまかなわれているのだそう。
この時期の子供たちに、「もらい慣れ」感を感じてしまう事は否定できない。
けれど、本当に家計の苦しい家族から、（お誕生日も含め）子供に何もプレゼントをすることもできず、、、という話を聞くと、このサービスは素敵な事だとも思う。
特に、手作りのものがあるのが良い。
キリスト教のボランティア精神を一番感じるのは、やはりこのクリスマス時期です。
